RECENT AGENCY ACTIVITY

We would like to welcome the Rodeo-Hercules Fire Protection District to our list of fire agencies that utilize our consortium recruitment services. They are looking to hire 1 Firefighter/Paramedic in July of 2010 and possible 2 more toward the end of 2010.

• San Mateo FD: 2 FF/Paramedics hired 5/28/2010

We would like to reiterate to the candidates what our criteria entails to stay current on the Registry.
You are placed on the Registry if you have successfully completed the written examination and have turned in a valid CPAT card or certificate by the date specified. If any of the aforementioned requirements expire during your time on the Registry, then you will be removed from the Registry. Your scores and CPAT are valid for one year. It’s that plain and simple.

If you take the examination in May and your CPAT expires in June, it is your responsibility to send us an updated CPAT card. If you do not submit a valid CPAT card by the posted deadline, you will be removed from the Registry the next time it is established. We do send out e-mails to all candidates that have one or more of their requirements that will expire before the next due date.

The Registry goes out twice a year. If you do not have a current written examination score or a valid CPAT (CPAT must be less that one year old from the date of the upcoming semi-annual written test in that same calendar year), you will be dropped.
If you wish to submit your CPAT after the deadline, you are welcome to do that, but you will not be placed on the current Registry under any circumstances. You will be placed on the Registry after the completion of the next future FIREHIRE® Inc. examination process.

We have revamped our examination schedule to reflect the administration of the bi-annual San Mateo County Joint Fire Academy. This will entail moving the July 2010 to October of 2010. This change was made to allow the agencies ample time to complete backgrounds and pre-employment physicals on FIREHIRE candidates prior to the Academy start dates in January and September of each year. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. If your year was to expire in January of 2010, you will be extended to the October 2010 examination process.
