Ron Coleman, Chairperson

During Ron Coleman's 38 years in the fire service, he served as the Chief Deputy Director at the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, as well as California State Fire Marshal.
Previously, he was a fire chief for the Cities of Fullerton and San Clemente, Calif., and was the operations chief for the Costa Mesa Fire Department. He possesses a Master of Arts Degree in Vocational Education from Cal State Long Beach, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Cal State Fullerton and an Associate of Arts Degree in Fire Science from Rancho Santiago College.
He has served in many elected positions in professional organizations, including president, International Association of Fire Chiefs, vice president, International Committee for Prevention and Control of Fire, and president, California League of Cities, Fire Chiefs Department. He has professional memberships in many other organizations, such as the International Association of Fire Chiefs, International Fire Code Institute, Conference of Building Officials, National Fire Protection Association, and the Institution of Fire Engineers, USA Branch, where he was elected as a Fellow.
Ron is a noted speaker, facilitator and author; he has written more than a dozen books and hundreds of articles relating to fire administration, prevention, operations, leadership and training to name but a few. His experience includes progressive responsibilities for creating or implementing fire protection policy from the local, state and national levels.
Currently, he serves as a panel member on the re-constituted "America Burning" panel and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Commission on Fire Accreditation International.

| Micheal Warren, Member |

Michael Warren has been the Fire Chief for the City of Corona since May 1994. The department currently employs a staff of 120 members and operates the suppression activities for the city from 6 fire stations with plans of 7 fire stations within the next year.
He previously served as Deputy Chief for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection/San Bernardino County Fire Department. He has over 30 years experience in the fire service, serving on major emergency incidents throughout the United States. He attended Chaffey College and Northern Arizona University, attaining degrees and certificates in professional forestry and fire science.
Chief Warren currently serves as the Legislative Director for the California Fire Chiefs Association, serves on the Public Safety Policy Committee for the League of California Cities, Vice Chair of the Inland Empire Affiliate of Burn Institute, is an active member of the board on Alternatives to Domestic Violence, and is an active member of Rotary.

| Paul Stein, Member |

Paul Stein is the current Southern California Director for the California State Firefighters' Association. He is also a retired Battalion Chief from the Santa Monica, California Fire Department. He is an active speaker who administers promotional, and tactics/strategy seminars. There will be a more comprehensive biography available later.

| Willie McDonald, Member |

Willie McDonald is native Californian born and raised in the central San Joaquin Valley City of Fresno. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Cal State University, Fresno and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Cal State University Hayward. Chief McDonald began his fire service career as a member of the Fresno City Fire Department in 1978. He held the positions of Firefighter, Paramedic, Engineer, Captain and Deputy Chief while in the City of Fresno and left the Department in 1993 to become the Fire Chief in the City of Foster City, California near the City of San Francisco.
Chief McDonald was appointed as the Fire Chief in the City of San Mateo in 1996 and assisted the City in implementing its advanced life support program and forming a joint powers authority for fire, rescue and medical response throughout San Mateo County.
He graduated from the Executive Fire Officers' Program at the National Fire Academy in 1998 and in 2000 completed a fellowship at the John F. Kennedy School of Government for State and Local Government Officials on the campus of Harvard University. In 2002, McDonald was appointed as the Fire Chief in the City of Fremont, California, which is a City of approximately 210,000 on the northern edge of Silicon Valley.
He was invited to assist the City of Scottsdale in overseeing the transition of fire protection and emergency medical services from the Rural Metro Corporation to the City and was appointed as the City's first Fire Chief in June 2004. Chief McDonald is married and has two young sons all that have recently relocated to the City of Scottsdale.

Rob is also the Director of Operations for FIREHIRE® Inc. Rob Ferry is currently a Battalion Chief with the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. Rob is a Certified Fire Officer and holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration with emphasis in Fire Protection Planning. Rob spent 6 years with the California Office of Emergency Services as a Federal Emergency Management Agency Grant Specialist.

Frank Miranda is currently a Captain with the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. Frank is a member of the International Association of Firefighters Local 522. There will be a more comprehensive biography available later.
